Help & support
How can we help?
Search the answers below, or reach the team directly.
Getting started
On the home screen, drop in a file, paste a link or type a topic, then press send. Cramby reads it and writes a short lesson with sections, examples and checks. You can open it while it’s still writing.
Learn walks you through the material one section at a time with checks along the way. Notes is the full write-up you can edit. Quiz and Flashcards are practice built from the same lesson, and Podcast reads it back as a conversation.
No. Cramby works on its own. It’s made by the Clerval team, and connecting Clerval is optional.
Lessons & uploads
PDFs, Word and PowerPoint files, plain text and Markdown, photos of notes (PNG, JPEG, WebP), audio recordings (MP3, M4A, WAV, WebM), YouTube links and web pages. You can also record a lecture straight from the home screen.
Up to 20 MB on Free, 50 MB on Explorer and 100 MB on Scholar. Very long recordings and videos may need splitting into parts.
Scans are read as images, so blurry or skewed pages lose detail. Try a clearer scan, or export the pages as images and upload the important ones. If a lesson still looks off, send feedback from the lesson menu with a screenshot.
Yes. Open Notes and edit like a document, or ask the tutor to make a change; it shows you the edit before applying it. Earlier versions are kept, so you can go back.
Studying & practice
Cards are scheduled with FSRS, a spaced-repetition algorithm that aims for about 90% recall when a card comes due. Grade honestly: Again and Hard bring a card back sooner, Good and Easy push it further out. The buttons show the next interval before you choose.
Each concept moves from Attempted to Familiar, Proficient and Mastered as you answer questions about it. Mastered needs consistent correct answers on at least two different days, so one good session isn’t enough.
Choose Plan for an exam, pick the lessons and the date, and set your minutes per day. Cramby schedules new material first, then practice at growing gaps (weakest concepts first) and a short mock on the last day. Miss a day and it rebuilds the rest of the plan.
Yes. Turn on the Anki export charm and download any lesson’s cards as a file Anki imports directly.
Plans & billing
Free includes 3 document notes, 2 YouTube notes and 10 tutor messages a month. Explorer ($11.99/mo, or $7.99/mo billed yearly) raises that to 15, 4 and 200 and unlocks full notes and voice. Scholar ($14.99/mo, or $10/mo billed yearly) makes it unlimited and adds deeper answers, podcasts and priority support.
Go to Settings, then Plan, and manage your subscription. You keep your paid features until the end of the period you’ve paid for, then move to Free. Your lessons stay.
